Class Guildlines


Most classes are to learn a technique. You will not get the project finished in class unless stated. As long as your sewing machine is in good working order and you know how to use it, you will be able to learn the featured technique.

Classes

Learn to make these kaleidoscope type blocks quickly using only 4 repeats of fabric and squares to make simple 4-patches.

Cost: $ 15.00
In this class/ Block of the Month you will learn a new machine stitching technique each month, bobbin work, piping, couching, and more. Learn what wonderful things you can do with your machine. After all why did you get a machine with more than 1 stitch? Start with block #1, on the last Sat. of the month, Mar, May & July. Check calendar for dates, then jump in with the rest of the group on the 3rd. Sat. each month.

In this class you will learn to rotary cut, sew an accurate 1/4" seam, join blocks and add a border. You will make a small quilt top and learn machine quilting on a small practice piece. 5 session class.

Cost: $ 50.00
Learn to put traditional double fold binding on a small quilt sandwich. Finish with by hand or all machine option. Also learn how to add a decorative flange and decorative stitching to your quilt.

Piece this great old star pattern without any diamonds or bias edges. The star is pieced in rows with half square triangle units. Add a border to get an 80''x80'' quilt.

Pat M will be your guide, she will offer help and information to get you started. Then continue as needed to learn more advanced techniques, such as ruler work. You will be able to network with other quilters to find out what works and what doesn't for them.

Wendy will show how to sew strips together, make the fabric tube and the correct zig-zag stitch to put your rug together. Approximately 30in x 44in area rug.

Let your young adults (8 & up) learn to sew while making there choice of projects or a row for a quilt on maybe just a runner. There are 5 rows total.Twice a month on the 2nd & 4th Saturday they can learn something new or continue working on a project they started in a previous class. They can start in class and finish at home with an adult. Once all five rows are pieced they can continue on the make a quilt. $15.00 for each 2 hour session. Limit 4 students.

Make your own class. What do you need help with? Learning how to use your sewing machine, getting started with garment sewing, help with a pattern or maybe a little bit of everything. Carol will help you with a technique or just figuring what to do next. Supplies depend on your project. You must preregister before class. Limit 4 students.

One fabric + one size triangle = hexagon blocks. Learn to stack fabric for perfect kaleidoscope blocks.

In this class you will learn the basics of paper piecing while making a star block or two. Use the star blocks to make a Sewing Machine Mat or Zippy Pouch in a second additional class.

Large zipper top bag for all of your magic stuff! There are 2 pockets on the outside and 2 pockets on the inside to keep everything organized. Structural stays keep it in shape. Can be made with yardage or 2-1/2in strips. Finished size: 18in wide x 12in deep x 14in tall.

We will be using the Fun & Done Easy Diamonds pattern. Make 1 block at a time. Join block together to make a quilt any size you would like.

In this monthly class you will learn to stitch a different design on a small quilt-let and you will be able to put all of the blocks together into a full size quilt. Videos and Instruction. There are 8 monthly classes, begins in Feb.

What do you need help with? Do you need to learn a new technique, how to read your pattern or are you wondering how to put it all together. In this class you pick the project. Binding, paper piecing, machine applique, piecing, your choice. Every Friday 10- 12:30. You must call at least 3 days ahead to reserve & pay for you spot.

You will learn to design a quilt, how to properly stabilize your t-shirts and cut them out.

Monthly Happenings

Grab a project and come on in the 2nd & 4th Fridays. We will have pizza, salad & pop, and you can sew until 9pm. The cost is only $8.00. You must R.S.V.P. on Friday by 2pm. 4:00 - 9:00 pm.

This is like a mini retreat. Bring in a project or 2 and sew without interruption for 3 days or only 1 if that's all you can get away for. For weekday camp we provide light breakfast in the morning & lunch. For weekend camp we provide dinner on Friday & Saturday, lunch on Saturday & Sunday & light breakfast on Saturday. So take some time for friends and sewing. $30.00/3 days or $12.00/a day. $30.00 for all 3 days or $12.00 a day.

This is a block of the month club. The quilt this year is Allegro. Kits are pre-cut and ready to sew. Most blocks are made using half-square triangles and flying geese units. There are 12 kits at $12.00 each with a $10.00 registration. Kits contain all of the fabric needed for the complete quilt top & binding. You may bring in your sewing machine and start sewing your block each month. Everyone who participates in club meetings will receive Quilt Bucks that may be used in Dec. at the potluck dinner & auction. Meetings are the 3rd Thursday 2-4 or 6-8. You can get some guidance, but this is not a class. There is a black sashing/border option also.
